Pipistrel got the virtual DEAD GRASS AWARD by EAA!

The Virtual Dead Grass award is held annually by the EAA. Each year attendees at AirVenture "vote" with their feet and bestow on certain airplanes what is unofficially known as the "Dead Grass Award." It is obvious who the winners are based on the patterns in the grass around certain airplanes. Just like dead grass around the aricraft shows the amount of interested visitors, the Virtual Dead Grass is based on the number of clicks through the EAA website -  the "voting" is done virtually by tabulating which aircraft garnered the most interests by online readers.

The dead grass as Oshkosh Airventure location

The "dead grass" award shows the amount of traffic and proves that the Taurus G4 was very popular with the people who visited the website.
Ninth place out of 11.000 aircraft on display isn't bad at all!
We even ranked higher than the B 29 Flying Fortress!

Top clicks through August 4:
1.) North American P-51 Mustang Ole Yeller

2.) Fw 190A fighter

3.) Boeing 787 Dreamliner

4.) Molt Taylor Aerocar and Maverick Flying Cars

5.) Quest Kodiak

6.) Hummel UltraCruiser

7.) Rutan Model 202 Boomerang

8.) North American P-51 Mustang

9.) Pipistrel Taurus 4

10.) McCulloch Drone

11.) Smith Aerostar 601P

12.) Boeing B-29 "FIFI"

13.) Bugatti Model 100P Racer

14.) Super Chub

A close-up proof of the dead grass around the G4:
deadgrass

This photo (by Michael Coates) shows how much dead grass is around the Pipistrel G4. This photograph was taken on Thursday, late afternoon before the big windstorm destroyed the tents.
It is amazing just how many people trampled down the lush green grass to almost dirt.
