Pipistrel Team
The reason for not sending paper Christmas cards this year is to embrace the spirit of our ECOlution campaign. Pipistrel has been the leader in designing and producing the most energetically efficient aircraft and has been preserving the environment ever since the company was launched. With the completion of our new Scientific Institute for Aircraft Design & Applicable Technologies building, which is energetically completely self-sufficient, using renewable sources only, we are taking our philosophy of efficient design and operation to a whole new level.

Further, we typically send between 500 and 1000 greetings cards every year. Every greeting is composed from a card and an envelope. So that is at least 2 sheets of paper (times 1000).
Altogether this makes 2000 sheets of paper. Taking into account the environmental effect of producing this much paper (1/4 of a full-grown tree which corresponds to a yearly 3 kg of CO2 absorption) and its delivery world-wide (est. 25-50g CO2 per letter), this sums at 43 kg of CO2 per Christmas!
**Do you really wish to give anyone 43 kg of CO2 for Christmas?!**
This is exactly why we decided to distribute this years holiday greetings through our website and e-mail only.
But there is more! Not only have we saved enough CO2 for 4 trees -- we are giving the World the best possible holiday gift! We decided to plant 4 new trees next to our premises in AjdovÅ¡Äina.
We have already saved enough CO2 for 4 trees by not sending out paper greeting cards - but these four new trees will absorb the same amount of CO2 again - and they will do so every single year!
