In the business world nowadays an innovative idea is what counts most. We in Pipistrel of course realise that - and that's why we award innovative thinking with our employees. To receive the complete monthly payment, each employee is required to submit at least one innovation each month. The ideas can be from any field of expertise, they can also be completely "crazy" - regardless of whether Pipistrel decides to use the idea or not, every submission is rewarded with a 10 euro money prize. Every month we choose the best idea among all the submissions and award it the "Idea of the month" title together with a 500 euro prize, and each year the "Idea of the year" wins 5000 euro.
In October our employee Robert Likar overheard the news about a severe lack of blood in Slovenian hospitals. As his monthly innovation he proposed for the entire Pipistrel Team to donate blood together.
The idea was accepted really well among the employees so we decided to visit the blood donating center on Thursday, 6. November 2008. We are heading to the Transfusion clinic in Å empeter where 34 of the Pipistrel Team members and our cooperatives: Kodelja Branko s.p., Kolar Sašo s.p., Kosta Igor s.p. and Uršič Eljo s.p. will donate blood together.
Our ambitions, however, do not end just there. We invited different media representatives to the event in hope of spreading the word about Robert's idea. We are aiming to let as many other companies as possible know about this action, so maybe others will take up the idea and join us in this effort.
The success of a business company should not be measured only by the sales and income, but also by the virtues that the company represents. In Team Pipistrel we wish to be remembered not only as an aircraft producer but also as an environmentally conscious company - and a team of individuals who won't shy away from offering a helping hand to people in need.
