On Thursday and Friday (Sept. 10 and 11) we hosted the Slovenian branch of Toyota company here at Pipistrel. The car-makers honoured us by their decision to introduce their new Prius Hybrid for the first time in Slovenia - here at our facility.
Thus, after 7 years, the newest model of Prius returns to Pipistrel in Ajdovščina - a similar situation happened in 2002 when Ivo Boscarol, the general manager of Pipistrel, owned the very first Prius in Slovenia, before even the official sales of the car began for the Slovenian market.

On Thursday Toyota held a press conference for the media and a presentation of the new Prius, so we hosted a multitude of journalists and reporters from different newspapers, radio and TV houses.
During the tour it became obvious why Toyota chose Pipistrel for their introduction of the new car model - just like Toyota, Pipistrel strives for a better and greener world on every step of the way. Our products are among the best in the world in preserving the environment, low fuel consumption and using the alternative means of propulsion - our Taurus Electro is the world's first two seat electric aircraft.
But what's more, our company's facility is the most environmentally friendly building in Slovenia at the moment. Just like Toyota's facility in Japan, the Pipistrel's new building uses the latest technology for the rational use of energy, including the largest solar power plant in the country. On Friday, Toyota prepared a similar program, but this time the guests were mostly entrepreneurs, car-salon representatives and other influential people from the Slovenian economy and politics.
Unfortunately the weather didn't let us take our esteemed guests for a flight around the valley, but nobody was too disappointed because of , because the star of the day was of course the beautiful new Toyota Prius. Everybody was more than happy to take her for a test drive.
