Team Pipistrel received two very prestigious awards yesterday:
Michael Coates, our USA distributor, received the Dr. August Raspet Memorial award in the name of the Pipistrel Team,
for "outstanding contributions to the advancement of the design of light aircraft and the experimental aircraft association."
Pipistrel's R&D engineer, Tine Tomažič, received a prestigious PADA Trophy (more about this award here: http://cafefoundation.org/v2/main_PADA.php )
The Personal Aircraft Design Academy (PADA) evolved from the Laminar Flow True Believers Society that met at the Oshkosh AirShow every summer. The meeting of the PADA during the Oshkosh AirVenture now includes an award ceremony for outstanding designers of personal aircraft who achieve the state of the art progress in aircraft performance and efficiency. This year's trophy was awarded to univ.dipl.ing Tine Tomažič, Pipistrel development engineer and the leader of the Taurus G4 development team (the aircraft that won the 2011 NASA Green Flight Challenge).
Tine Tomažič impressed all the present with an outstanding speech and emphasised he was proud to be a part of the Pipistrel team.
