We are back from AERO 2009 in Friedrichshafen!

Pipistrel's new approach of including all the distributors into our staff to provide the custumer support at the exhibition prooved to be very successful. The visitors were enthusiastic about the option of getting the information in their own native languages!

We are proud to announce that the AERO 2009 Friedrichshafen exhibition was a total success.

The story began on Tuesday when our three drivers, after an all-night drive, delivered three aircraft to Friedrichshafen, Germany.

Two more aeroplanes were brought there by the German and Austrian distributor. The final plane, Apis Electro arrived on Wednesday, brought by our friend Roman Sušnik. All together, 6 aeroplanes were awaiting to be presented to the admiring eyes of the vistors.

This year, Pipistrel introduced an important innovation: many international distributors and promoters were present at the exhibition booth with us. This way, we could provide the service, information and promo material to our costumers in the following languages (in alphabetical order): Arabian, Belgian, Chinese, Dutch, English (British and American), French, German, Italian, Lithuanian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Slovenian and Spanish!

On Thursday morning, when the fair began, not everyone had arrived yet. So we took a photograph of everyone who was present at the moment. Many more people joined later.
All together during the 4 days of the exposition, over 30 people were present to provide the best possible service to our costumers! The distributors came from the following countries (in alphabetical order):
Australia, Austria, Baltic countries, Belgium, Brazil, China, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates and USA.

Our exhibition booth was located in the largest hall "A". On 600 m2 of space, Pipistrel presented 6 aircraft, including the NASA challenge winner "Virus SW".
The other aircraft presented were the Sinus Nose-Wheel, Taurus, Bee-Apis, Electro Taurus and Electro Apis.

This year we were especially proud at our beautifully designed exhibition booth and our brand new and decorated van and trailer.
We would like to thank Mr Max Pinucci, our friend and cooperative from Pipistrel Italy team, and his company MB Vision for this fantastic design of the entire exhibition area and the whole visual image.
The execution of the project was a task of a Slovene company, Kobi Interieri from Ljubljana.
Both companies proved extremely obliging and went to great lengths to provide us with a functional and aesthetically pleasing booth. They came up with fantastic solutions literally overnight. We are very grateful for their cooperation!

Here you can see our exhibition booth.

It provided plenty of space for all the aircraft and all the neccessary information about them, as well as several private nooks for face-to-face conversations with individual customers.

The stars of the event were of course the first two seater electric-powered motorglider in the world, Electro Taurus, and its "smaller brother", the single-seater Electro Apis-Bee.

Next to Apis Electro, our friend Roman Sušnik and his company Enstroj presented their new generation od low-weight and high-power electric engines. The engines were one of the major attractions of the exhibition and the novelty which probably attracted the most attention from the visitors.

Our two best-sellers, Sinus Nose-Wheel and Virus Short Wing were of course positioned in the place of honour at the very front of our exhibition booth.

Apis - Bee was introduced to the public for the first time. It recieved lots of positive feedback, especially concerning its serial equipment and its precise manufacturing.

Taurus with its huge, spacious cockpit was of course the target of massive interest, especially by larger pilots, because it represents almost the only chance for stronger people to fly a glider - the vast majority of other glider planes are way too small for bigger people to fit into the cabin!

But the presence of Pipistrel could be felt all over the exhibition area of the fair, not only on our booth.
-Right next to our booth, the area of the University of Stuttgart was located. In a partnership with the University, Pipistrel is developing a hydrogen fuel cell powered aircraft "Hydrogenius".

-Pipistrel's products also appeared on promo material of other participants - for example, Taurus (with the pilot Klaus Ohlmann) featured on the poster of photo-callendar by Claus Dieter Zink.

-The company Wing put up for the exhibition some spare parts for our aircraft.

-the Solar hangar used our Taurus as an example of an electric plane...
..and that's just the beginning of it.

Also present at our booth was our friend and distributor Michael Coates with his product line XCom avionics.

The next photos will best illustrate the kind of interest that was paid to our products - the planes literally couldn't be seen for the amount of people who gathered around them!

Our distributors were busy all the time, providing information to the visitors, accepting orders and greeting all our customers who decided to visit us at the exhibition.

But we haven't forgotten the children either! For kids and families we provided seats next to tables laden with sweets, dried fruit and chocolate easter eggs, so they had an easier time waiting for their parents who examined our planes in the meantime.

On Friday evening we had a business dinner with all our distributors. We talked about our work up to this moment and discussed our plans and ideas for the future, including our strategies for appearing on the market, possible new projects and exchanged our experience.

We had some special guests at the dinner - Mr Wolfgang Meier and the members of Rotax team came to greet us! (Pipistrel is the general distributor for Rotax in Slovenia).

The exhibition was a great success and hereby we wish to thank everyone who made this possible, everyone who helped us in any way - and of course every one of you who came to visit us at our booth.

Big thanks to the entire Pipistrel team, especially Tine Tomažič and Tanja Harej - without every single one of you, all this would never be possible!
